ముచ్చటైన ముగ్గులు మన హైందవ సంస్కృతికి భాగమైనవి. ప్రతి ఇల్లాలు వేకువ ఝామూనే లేచి ఇల్లు అలికి ముగ్గువేయడం మన సాంప్రదాయం. కళ్ళాపి జల్లిన వాకిళ్ళలో తెల్లని ముగ్గు పిండితో గానీ, బియ్యం పిండితో, అత్యంత రమణీయంగా ముగ్గులు పెట్టిన ఇళ్ళకు సాక్షాత్తు ఆ లక్ష్మీ దేవి వేంచేస్తుందని మనవారి నమ్మకం. సంక్రాంతిని ప్రత్యేకించి ముగ్గుల పండుగగా భావిస్తారు. ధనుర్మాసం ప్రారంభమైతే వీధి వీధులు సందు సందులు ముత్యాల్లాంటి ముగ్గులతో మెరుస్తాయి. ప్రతి వాకిలిలోను అత్యంత అందమైన ముగ్గులు మెరుస్తాయి.

• రంగవల్లికలు

అయితే మన సాంప్రదాయంలో సంక్రాంతి పండుగలో వేసే రధం ముగ్గుకు ఒక ప్రత్యేకత ఉంది.

The yard is sprinkled with kallapi and with white muggu powder or rice flour, most beautiful muggulu are drawn, to such house graces Godess Lakshmi. Sankranti is especially noted as a festival of muggulu. With the advent of Dhanur masam (month of Dhanur) every street is covered with beautifully decorated with colorful muggulu. Evry courtyard is adored with vibrant muggulu.
