Atlataddi Puja Vidhanam:

Asviyuja bahula tadiya marks the eve of Atlataddi. Also known as 'Umdrallataddi'. This festival is exclusively for women and the day before this is called 'Bhogi'. On the day of bhogi women decorate themselves with gorimtaku (mehendi) and sing songs.

The next day on the eve of Atlataddi the women wake up early in the morning and take bath, then the clean the house and decorate it with muggulu. Next they eat 'chaddannam' (rice that was cooked last night and set aside all night, not in fridge) with pickles and curd (yougart). Then they go from house to house calling al their friends and neighbours to come and celebrate with them. They sing dance and enjoy themselves. Until the rise of moon the women fast.

With the rise of the moon the women take bath and with great sanctity make atlu (dosas) for nivaedyam (offering). Then with great reverance they worship 'UmaSankarulu'.
